Park Pavilion Reservation Policy

RESERVATION PERIODS

HALF DAY 9 AM-3 PM OR 4-10 PM $40
FULL DAY 9 AM – 10 PM $80
  • Reservations will be taken by the City Clerk’s Office after January 1 for the reservation period beginning May 1 and ending October 31. Reservations must be made no less than three (3) days prior to the requested date.
  • Reservations will be on a first paid-first served basis.
  • Charges for the reservations will be as follows:
    • $40 charge for each reservation period if the pavilion is left clean and picked up, any picnic tables moved are returned to original location.
    • $80 charge for an all-day reservation if the pavilion is left clean and picked up, any picnic tables moved are returned to original location.
  • Reservations will only be made for up to the maximum number of people the City states a pavilion holds. If the group is larger than the number of people that a pavilion holds, then the reservation must be made for both pavilions. If only one pavilion is available, no reservation can be made.
  • The Wagner Pavilion holds a maximum of 65 people.
  • The Sullivan Pavilion holds a maximum of 50 people.
  • In the event of a reservation cancellation, the fee will NOT be refunded.
  • Checks should be made payable to “City of Asbury, Iowa.”
  • Reservations will be taken at Asbury City Hall, Monday through Friday during City Hall working hours.
  • The calendar of reservations is posted on the west side of the bulletin board at the park entrance.


PARK HOURS: 6 AM – 10:30 PM

  • The pavilions are lighted and have electrical outlets.
  • No animals are allowed in the park.
  • No motor vehicles are allowed beyond paved area of parking lot.
  • Picnic tables are prohibited on parking lot, sidewalks, and multi-purpose/tennis areas.
  • No roller blades, skates, or skateboards allowed. Bicycles in designated areas only.
  • No hog roasters are allowed in the park.
  • Other amusements must be approved on a case by case basis and provide the City with a certificate of insurance.

Authorized beverages shall include beer (no keg beer), wine coolers, and soft drinks. No other alcohol allowed in the park. The baseball diamond playing area is designated as an alcohol free zone; no alcoholic beverages are allowed in those areas.

Reservations are for pavilions only. Sports areas are available for general use (unless reserved for leagues or team practice/games by authorization of Council/Park Commission). If the pavilion is occupied during your reservation period, show your receipt or calendar posting on the bulletin board. If there is a problem obtaining possession of the pavilion, phone 585-1874 for police assistance.
