Fire Hydrant Flushing Scheduled: September 8 – October 3, 2025

The City of Asbury will be conducting its routine fire hydrant flushing program from Monday, September 8, 2025, through Friday, October 3, 2025.

This important maintenance helps ensure our water system remains in good working condition and provides high-quality water service to residents.

What to Expect

During the flushing period, residents may notice:

• Discolored water

• Unusual tastes or odors

• Lower-than-usual water pressure

Please note that the water will remain safe to drink. However, we recommend taking the following precautions:

• Use caution when doing laundry to prevent possible fabric staining.

• Consider bypassing in-home water treatment systems such as softeners or purification units during the flushing period.

• Flush your internal plumbing by running cold water through faucets or outdoor hoses if discoloration occurs.

• Check and clean faucet screens and aerators if necessary.
