Water Meter

The City of Asbury is continuing its Water Meter Replacement Program as part of the City's ongoing effort to update and improve its water meter system.

Approximately 400 water customers are included in the next phase of the project. Customers whose meters are scheduled for replacement will receive a letter from the City with information about the project and instructions for scheduling their appointment.

The City has contracted with Ferguson Waterworks and RMR Services to complete the meter replacements.

What You Need to Know

There is no cost to the customer for the replacement. However, customers included in this phase are required to have their water meter replaced.

RMR Services will need access to the existing water meter, which is located inside the home or business. Before your appointment:

  • The water meter area should be clear and accessible.
  • An adult age 18 or older must be present for the entire appointment.
  • Please make sure the water shut-off valve on the incoming water service is working properly.
  • If the shut-off valve cannot completely stop the water flow, it will need to be repaired or replaced before the meter replacement can take place.

Scheduling Your Appointment

Appointments are available Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and are scheduled in two-hour time blocks. The technician will arrive within the scheduled time frame.

The meter replacement should take approximately 30 minutes.

Customers receiving a notification letter are asked to schedule their appointment within three weeks of receiving the letter.

For your safety and peace of mind, all RMR Services installers will have identification, wear uniforms, travel in marked vehicles, and have completed background checks.

The City of Asbury appreciates your cooperation and patience as we continue this important water infrastructure project.
