The City of Asbury is accepting applications for a full-time Police Officer to join the Asbury Police Department.

Asbury is a growing community with a population of approximately 5,944 residents. Our Police Department is committed to providing professional, responsive, and community-focused law enforcement services while maintaining public peace and safety and protecting life and property.

Position Responsibilities

The Police Officer will perform a variety of law enforcement duties, including:

Responding to calls for service and emergencies
Enforcing federal, state, and local laws and ordinances
Protecting life and property
Maintaining public peace and safety
Conducting investigations and preparing reports
Providing assistance and service to residents and the community
Performing other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must:

Be 21 years of age
Possess a high school diploma or GED
Possess Iowa Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) certification or have the ability to obtain certification within one year of employment
Have law enforcement experience preferred

Pre-Employment Requirements

The selected candidate will be required to successfully complete a:

Physical examination
Drug screening
Background investigation
